Terminals ring one more time than system settings require. 1

I have a Definity G3si r11. All calls ring one more time than what the system requires. For instance:

COVERAGE PATH 1:

Active? n n
Busy? n y
Don't Answer? y y Number of rings: 3
All? n n
DND/SAC/Goto Cover? y y


SYSTEM PARAMETERS CALL COVERAGE / CALL FORWARDING:

Local Cvg Subsequent Redirection ... (rings): 3
Off-Net Cvg Subsequent Redirection ... (rings): 3

Using the above settings, the phone SHOULD only ring 3 times at the primary and at every coverage point in the path. Instead, it rings 4 TIMES. Any ideas why?

If you only want 3 rings then set it for 2 rings How many rings does the caller hear vs how many time it rings at the desk? Wisdom is Knowledge

That is how I have it set now. I actually want 4 rings, so I have it set at 3. According to my testing, it actually rings 4 times at the desk and to the caller.

I just figured that there is something set incorrectly in my system that is causing this to occur, and I'd like to fix it instead of "work around" it.

Not really... How about this..

The caller rings your phone for the designated number of rings and then covers to another phone.

If you are the called person, you will hear 4 rings at your station and then hear ringing at the covered station.

What the caller hears is one of two things.

They hear three rings at the callers station, then a cover tone/ring, then more rings at the covered station.

The 4th ringing at your station is the time duration or ring cycle that the caller hears the cover tone/ring and then off it goes to the covered station.

Try internal and external calls to the station with coverage of 3 rings and hear the potential difference.
