Hello

I have Terminal Services running on my server that have two nic card. One have a private ip address and the other have the public ip address. I would like to filter out terminal services going to the public nic only letting terminal services running on the private nic.

Thank you for all the help!

Newtoo

on the advanced properties of your public NIC, enable TCP/IP filtering and block TCP and UDP ports 3389.

sorry, shouldn't have said "block" as you can't really do that...instead, add in the ports that you want to allow, typically HTTP, FTP, DNS , etc....

Thank you for the advise!!

I our company have has a different server that my old admin block out Terminal Services too. He didn't use TCP/IP filtering. I check in our router and it doesn't have an access-list to block out Terminal Services. I don't know what he did but you can only Terminal Services to the private ip address.

Thanks

OK. Didn't know you were talking about a company scenario...how about the firewall? did you check that?

My company doesn't have a firewall.
I was just wanted inform you that my old admin did something that to one of the server that block out Terminal Services to the public NIC and I was hoping that you or anyone would know.

Thanks
Newtoo.

yes. I'm not in front of a server right now, but I believe that you can open Terminal Services Configuration (from Administrative Tools) and edit the properties of the RDP/TCP connection to only allow this protocol through certain adapters...
