We have recently applied Windows updates on a number of 2000 Client machines, only to find that one of these was a security update to IE which now blocks the ActiveX control which is used for our Terminal Services Webclient access.
The solution to this as proposed by Microsoft was to update the ActiveX control on the Terminal Server so this will in turn be installed to the IE clients. I have done this and it works fine for those clients which could not connect, however local printer direction has now stopped working! The ActiveX control is designed for Windows XP RDP 5.1 but MS assure that it can be installed under a 2000 environment and is backwards compatible with Terminal Services RDP 5.0.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get printer redirection working again?
Thanks in advance.
