I have a domain controller which is setup as a terminal server licencing server with 5 client access licenses installed. My question is I am setting up a new server that has an accounting package that will be accessed through terminal services and I need to know about licensing. I have setup terminal services on the new server but do I have to setup this server with terminal services licensing as well or will it pull its necessary licenses from the domain controller?

It will pull from your existing license server.

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

How does the new server know which server to get the licenses from? I have two license servers on our network.

When you added the second license server, how did new clients know which server to pull a license from?

That is what I want to know. How does the client know which server to pull licences from? When I look at the terminal services licensing for each server I can see where each one has handed out licenses and the clients that have been issued them but how does the client know which server to go to. I have 5 CAL's installed on one server and none on the other so for any none XP or 2000 machines the server wtih the 5 CAL's has issued 4 and on the server with no CAL's installed it shows where it has issued 2 temporary licenses.
