Can anyone advise of the licencing requirements for the following config:

Win2000 Server running terminal services. Citrix Metaframe fr2 also loaded on same server.

I have a mixture of NT/2000 clients connecting to the Terminal services / citrix server located in the same domain (domain 1). Domain 1 is an NT4 domain. Clients in a seperate NT4 domain (domain 2)(all trusts in place) are required to connect to the terminal services / citrix server in domain 1

I am confused as to what the licencing requirements are, do I need only citrix server licence/s, or do I require additional Terminal server licences for both client and server?

You will need licences for both terminal services and citrix I'm afraid. Windows 2000 Server comes with Terminal Services at no extra cost, so you don't need a server licence, but you will need TSCALs for all non-2000/XP clients that are connecting to it. (You need to set this up on your server by installing Terminal Services Licencing (windows 2000 component).) Windows 2000 Professional and XP clients do not need seperate Client Access Licences.

On the Citrix side, you need a server licence and the appropriate number of MF client base licences.

Another point to note is that although the Citrix client licences are pooled, the Terminal Services CAL's aren't and are per machine, not per user. Confused? - you'll probably be able to get a clearer picture of it all on Citrix website but hope this helps a bit!
