Trust me you do not want to go to the beast called NT terminal server.

2000 has terminal services included but you also need a licencing server. Every 2000/XP client includes a licence for terminal services.

admin mode on ts - is free
allows two connections

for you to enable it now on nt you have to upgrade to tse - no a major thing but givin it's age and expiry date - not the best idea

There is NT 4 Terminal Server Edition but it is a complete product not an add-on, if you are running NT4 you would need Citrix Metaframe if you where looking for add-on type of thing. Yes win2k includes TS. However to read your thread you indicate you are running NT4 and looking to "attach to console" not "start an administrative SESSION" if "attach to console" is all you really want to do download the free VNC just type VNC into any internet search and you will find it.

This will allow you to run the VNC Server on the NT4 server and attach to the running console with the VNC Client. Set the VNC server to autostart and you are set.
