We have a 2000 server and are having problems in local printing. From within our lan, network printing, is not an issue. But remotely people logging in to TS cannot print to their local printer. The remote CPU''s are Win 98.

Our need is great and growing every day we can't figure this out. I have explored the previous postings on the topic but unfortunately to no avail...

If you might have an answer please let me know.

Thanks

Install the print drivers that are used remotely on the Server, select the port as unassigned TS port. The server will use these driver to create the print object when the remote user logson and delete when remote user logs off. Also By-directional printers don't seem to work well.

The server has the files of this printer, so I've installed it and I have configured the port to TS, TS002, Lpt2, lpt3 and lpt1. None have printed. By unassigned TS do you mean a port that doesn't have a printer assigned to it? I have set the printer to not bidirectional.

Is there a setting in security that I am not setting? Or some configuration that I have not set. TS client properties say print to local printers.

You said the printers will go away when you sign off well my printers remain...? I have signed on using different admin names.

Any help appreciated....

Hello,

Please read the Microsoft article Q264039. I followed their instructions and all the users can print to remote printers.

Regards,
Doina
