Has anyone setup terminal services in w2k? I currently have a VPN connection with NT4 and will be rolling out w2k in the next month or so. IF i want to provide remote access to my users but also want remote admin for myself can i install Terminal server in remote admin mode to cover both needs?

Users would be accessing regular office files and accounting files....

thanks

I'm pretty sure you can only have one or the other, but you should be able to do all the remote admin activities as a remote access terminal server with the right login. Mark

cmptrnerd is correct you can only run in one mode and running in application mode is your best bet here. If your remote admin is minimal you might want to consider using an mmc console on a win2000pro machine. Performance will depend upon bandwidth but then so will terminal service performance. You will also need to install at least one server with terminal services licensing otherwise the terminal server will disable all but console access to users after a timeout period (I think it's 35 days)
