Using W2K Advanced server, terminal services for same, and Remote Desktop Connection from XP home and XP Pro clients.

When I go to the server and load Terminal Services Manager, I go to right click on the session, and Remote Control is greyed out. The only thing I can find in TSM help is that it says you must have "Full Control" permissions to remote control. Full Control permission over what?

I tried shadow, and got this message:

c:\>Shadow RDP-Tcp#52

Please wait...
Remote control failed. Error code 7050
Error [7050]:The requested session cannot be controlled remotely.
this may be because the session is disconnected or does not currently have a user
logged on. Also, you cannot control a session remotely from the system console
or control the system console remotely. And you cannot remote control yor
own current session

Terminal services is strange in that you cannot do many things while logged on locally. Chances are, the following will fix your problem: log onto a client computer, then use the terminal services client on the client computer to log onto your terminal server.

If you wish to shadow a connection, it can't be your own.

Start, Help. You'll be surprised what's there. A+/MCP/MCSE/MCDBA
