Hi there,

I often have to terminal server to remote servers in Administration Mode and every time I do it writes Termservdevices errors to the event log. I know this is because the printer drivers are not installed on the remote servers but I never need to print though them anyway. Does anyone know how to stop Windows 2000 Server in Administration Mode from mapping your installed printers.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn.

Hello,

Go into options on your terminal services client and under the Local Resources Tab - uncheck Printers.

HTH!

Double click your user and then under the enviroment tab you will find that you can uncheck your printers from being mapped as jrogersnd mentioned above.

Sorry James but I can't work out where you mean.

Thanks Dmasch but that would stop printer connections to my Citrix application terminal servers too (which I forgot to mention - sorry!).

I think I've found the solution though. If I select the properties of the RDP-Tcp connection under Terminal Services Configuration on the remote server then I can overide the settings you mentioned Dmasch under the client settings tab.

Thanks for you help anyway.

Cheers,
Glenn.

SelbyGlenn,

Are you using the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client? If you are then there's an option to disable the mapping of local printers.
