Hi

Strange issue with licensing, I hope someone can help! We use 5 handheld devices running pocket pc 2002, off of a win2k terminal server with 5 TS licenses added. We have to keep a backup of the devices to save a very long install and setup. We also have to restore the backup every 5-6 weeks when someone breaks the device in some way. This then seems to restore the OLD license information (which has the original licence on it?), and the device is unable to connect. If I format the device and reinstall by hand the device can connect, presumably because it gets a new license / token from the server as a 'new' device?

Does anyone know where the license / token info is held? Presumably the registry on the handheld? What I can do is make a new boot routine that restores more of the setup, without the term services bit I hope.

Cheers

Mike

for Thin client devices, u need to reset to manufacture default, that's the only way to get rid of the TS licensing info.

Nowhere in the registry to get rid of it? I can't believe it's stored so well hidden!
