I jsut found 5483 files totalling over 343 meg in my data directory which were all files without any extension. They all are named with file names like AJAEAGFI or 2541B000 etc. I know these are temporary files and if the file size is greater than 0 they can be deleted without a problem. Is Clipper not suppose to do this cleanup of these files on its own?

Yes, that's Clipper's task, but it's just not very good at it ;-)
I (hope to) recall that the updates to 5.2e nearly clearup this issue, but i'm just not 100% sure, sorry.

If your application exits normally, the files will (mostly) be cleaned up.

If you get an abend, they won't.
