Is there a way to set up a template company in Accpac where we can just copy the database and change details whenever a new company is required ? We are in the process of installing Accpac and have some dozen companies to install. What is the best way ? The currency for each company is different.

Yes and no.
If all your currencies are the same then you can use Database Copy or Database Dump/Database Load.
With different currencies you need to setup each company the traditional way.

As Etienne suggests the only way is the traditional way of setting up a fresh new database for each company but you can make use of the ACCPAC import/export function to transfer across common master file information.

Some examples of common master file information that may be of use to you are :
1.GL Segment code
2.GL Chart of accounts
3.AP Vendor Groups
4.AP Vendors
5.AR Customer Groups
6.AR Customers
