Hi everyone,

I'm doing debbuging to know why my mailserver can't send e-mails to some company! Just to elimitate this suggestion I'm not a relay !

I was trying to telnet the server I can't send emails to !

Telnet mail.domain.com 25
220 mail.domain.com
helo my.domainname.com
250 mail.domain.com Hello my.domainname.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]pleased to meet you
MAIL FROM:address@my.domainname.com
553 5.0.0 address@my.domainname.com... unbalanced '"'

Why unbalanced ? is my question
Thanks

I have answer this question myself for anyone who try this : you CAN'T mispell anything ! If you do than press enter and rewrite the line.

The complete sytax on how to do that is here (I've put a "-" symbol to tell this is an answer form the distant mailserver, but you won't actually see this symbol) :

C:>Telnet
Telnet> o mail.domain.com 25
- 220 mail.domain.com DATE -
helo mydomain.com
- 250 mail.domain.com Hello mail.mydomain.com[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]pleased to meet you -
MAIL FROM:validaddress@mydomain.com

RCPT TO:validaddress@domain.com
-250 2.1.5 validaddress@domain.com... Recipient ok-
Data
-354 Enter mail, end with "." on a line by itself-

.
