I have many users that access our IBM eServer iSeries through telnet with 5250 emulation from a location in Sweden to the US. At times of high activity on the internet the session drops because the response is either too slow or a packet didn't make it to the other side. It is the PC side that drops the session. The AS/400 side still thinks the PC is connected and is waiting for a reponse from the user's keyboard. Is there a way to either have the PC resend packets if there was no response or is there a hardware box (perhaps a firewall) that can do this? Maybe an external box will store the packets and can resend them without the PC knowing it if a response is not returned in a specific amount of time. Is this a quality of service issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
