Telnet problem using 7.0(2)

This one's got me stumped.

I managed a large number of PIX devices and all have a management VPN which allow us to telnet and SSH to the devices.

Now the latest pix to come through the door has version 7.0(2) (all the other have 6.3), SSH works as I would expect, so I know the tunnel is opertional, however telnet doesn't.

I know a number of the commands have changed/been update but I'm pretty sure telnet is the same. the on-line manual reports on changes so I'm stumped why I can get such a simple process to work.

telnet MGTSVR1 255.255.255.255 Outside
telnet MGTSVR2 255.255.255.255 Outside
telnet timeout 5

Anyone suffered the same problem, or have any ideas
