I hope you guys can help with this....
I have an HP 320LX Palmtop with Windows CE 1.0. yeah I know it's old but it works plus I have a palm pilot too. I want to know is there is a way to use telnet on it. I have it connected to my PC and it can browse the net fine. I really would like to use the telnet feature to link to my cisco switches and router. I've found a few telnet programs but they are for CE 2 and up. Could any of you help with this?

Thanks,
Robo

Ok, I know someone has to know how to do this. Here is an update instead of telnet. Is there a way to get a terminal window up using the direct link cable? What I want to do is connect my handheld to my cisco switch for configurations.

CaRKiLLa,

what telnet programs were you able to find?

do any of them support ssh1 or ssh2 with at least triple DES?

I haven't found any Telnet programs that will work in CE ver 1. However, though the forums on here I was able to use my link cable and just direct connect to the switch and router through the console port and then if needed I just telnet to any of the other routers and switches in the company. The only drawback so far doing it this way is it seems the included terminal program doesn't have a scrollback buffer but it's still worked fine. I've even been able to telnet into my shell account through the router and check my mail and browse the inet with lynx but that's pretty much just to play around. :) I'm still on the search for a good program and will update here if I find anything out.

I did have a Casio EM500 and needed it specifically for telnet to unix, sun etc. I used Telnet Force. It woked great. You should be able to find it using a search on Google for the app name.
