tcp/ip is not installed

I get the message "tcp/ip is not installed" when I log in to my machine. I have an Alienware laptop with a RealTech NIC. I have updated the drivers, and run the commnad (netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt), removed and reinstalled my adapters, etc. I can see that I have a connection and can even ping things, I do not have the ability to map a network drive or connect to anything via the internet. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Check under the Properties for your LAN and any ISP, via the connection icons or Network Connections folder and make sure "Internet Protocol tcp/ip" is ticked.

The second half the article is the piece I was missing. I was able to reinstall TCP/IP and now everything is working like a charm!
