Is there any way to have tasks show up in the calendar?
I am using tasks as reminders - perhaps I should use "all day" events instead?

Cheers,
Brodie

cbs604,

To manually insert a task into your calendar. Activate calendar > insert item > select tasks > highlight task > fill information > insert.

This will palce a task on your calendar named what you enter in the insert form.

Is this what you were seeking?

Hope you find this helpful

Got stuck at the "insert item" step, don't seem to have that option. BTW I'm using version 2002 - shoulda mentioned that first up.

Anyway I found that I can create a task and simply drag it onto the calendar; fill in the details, and it does just want I want it to do.

Thanks again,

Cheers,
Brodie

cbs604,

Hey, Thanks for posting back with your progress as this assists those that might follow this at some time.

Great that you found a solution, I will have to file the "Drag&Drop" item for future reference.

Hello All,
In Outlook. . . .
- Appointments are those times in the day that we block off time to accomplish something. That could be a meeting, phonecall, write letters, etc.
- Just because you have created a Task does not mean you have blocked off time in your day to accomplish it. That is why you have to create an appointment such as "Work on Tasks"
- Yes, dragging and dropping the Task onto the Calendar does create an Appointment with the subject line of the Task. However, be aware that this is no longer a "Task" so if you have to send a "Task Update" or want to mark the Task completed you will still have to go back to the Task list and mark it off.
- Tasks when created will show up in the Calendar (Day, Work week and Week) as a "Task List" in the lower right hand corner of the screen. That way it is a constant reminder that you have Tasks to complete.
- If you set a completion date for your Task and that date has past the Task will turn Red.

Drag and Drop. . .
- Try this out. Using "Notes" create a new note, close it then "Drag and Drop" it onto. . .
** "Inbox" folder - A new email is created from the note.
** "Calendar" folder - A new Appointment is created
** "Task" folder - A new Task is created
** "Contact" folder - A new Contact is created
As you can see "Notes" is the truely underated part of Outlook, but is has the most flexibility.

Regards,
Michael
