when i open the task manager (control alt delete)
i select OPTIONS > HIDE WHEN MINIMIZED
before by doing thing it would minimize and would leave its icon in the system tray. but however now when i minimize it, it dissapears, it doesnt go to the task bar or the system tray .

how do i get its icon to show up the in system tray.

ive already made a shortcut to taskmgr.exe and went into PROPERTIES and RUN > MINIMIZED, still it doesn't work..

I suggest that this is a bug in XP and a fault with the Notification Area in general. From my experience the icon will appear sometimes and not other times. It is more likely to appear (and remain) if Task Manager is loaded (and minimized) soon after a reboot rather than later in a session. It may also work correctly (for a couple of days!) after a re-install of XP.

Not much help, but you are not alone in noticing this problem.
