Anyone come across the task scheduler appearing out of no where and then locking up your PC? Funny thing though, if I search for mstask.exe in the registry, the key that houses it (ScheduleAgent) is not present. So I am wondering if a rogue app is calling mstask.exe. Blah nuff rambling, if yall have seen this let me know.

TIA

Oh well, here is a work around in case any of yall ever do :)

rename mstask.exe to something like bad_mstask_.oldexe

Have to make sure you place something in front of exe as mS will still launch this pesky service. So far so good, no more crashes

This pest comes up whenever IE is upgraded (not patched).

Did you check HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\ for mstask.exe??????
