i can't seem to reactivate my task manager, each time i press ctrl-alt-del, it says that task manager was desactivated by the administrator, i have win xp/home fr...

First, it could well be a virus. W32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

The same symptom can be caused by Klez, and the Yaha Viruses.

Second, check the registry (Start, Run, regedit)

Data type Range Default value
REG DWORD 0 | 1 0= Default

Description
Prevents users from starting Task Manager (Taskmgr.exe).

If this Key has a DWORD value of 1, Task Manager cannot be run.

If the key exists, change its value to 0 (zero).

thanks bcastner , but i've checked my system n there's no virus, i've tried using regedit but it's blocked too, any tips u can give me...
