On one of my PCs I don't get the Task Manager when I click the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys. How do I get it back? I searched the registry for "TaskMgr" or "Task Manger" but did not find anything.

Maybe a bad key? Try using a different alt or ctl key.

Swapping the keyboard would be a good test for that

Try going to Start/Run and type in taskmgr and enter. I know there is usually at least two to three ways to do most anything on a PC.

pbunyon,
Good point, but understanding 'why' one way doesn't work could be helpful. Say down the road he finds that he can't copy or paste using shortcut keys (CTRL-C, CTRL-V) or something like that. Wouldn't it have been helpful to know that the CTRL key was causing the problem the whole time.

Just a thought, not a criticism.

On another PC typing taskmgr in the Run window does not work but Ctrl-Alt-Del does work. A Find does not locate taskmgr. Is this file hidden somehow or part of Windows 98?
