Out of curiosity one day, I clicked on the third tab of Task Manager, the one that shows CPU usage. It froze there, the other tabs disappeared, and there were no exit or cancel buttons. I had to reboot to get out, and I haven't been able to use Task Manager since then. Has anyone else heard of this? Do I need to reinstall Windows to get it back?

You likely put task manager in tiny footprint mode.

Double-click the border of the task manager window to restore the tabs.

Thanks, bcaster, for your suggestion. I couldn't get the focus where you suggested. However, while I was fooling around, I double-clicked directly in the window, and voila, a menu came up that allowed me to correct the problem.
