Task is not moved when setting predecessor

Lots of possiblities:
You may have Must Start on Constraint; you may have a SNLT or SNET constraint, you may have already entered actuals against the task.
You don't give enough information for your second question. What task type? Is it effort driven? Which field were you updating? What was the value before? What value did you enter?

Hi - this has happended to me before. Make sure your Automatic calculation is checked on. Otherwise, any changes you make won't update the schedule until you force it to. It's in Tools/Options/Calculation tab. Click on "Automatic Calculation". If it was not clicked on before, once you do, the changes should kick in.
