Task Bar Location

After doing some things with my computer, I suddenly realized that the task bar is at the top of the screen. How can I get it back down to the bottom where it belongs?

Click and drag it from an unused portion of the task bar.

Right click the taskbar and make sure 'Lock the taskbar' is unchecked.

Left click a blank area of the taskbar and begin dragging. When you get close to your final destination the taskbar should jump into place.

Forgot the "Lock the taskbar" bit. Of course, if he accidently moved it, it probably wasn't locked. ;-)

My favorite way of dealing with odd taskbar issues is just to reset the taskbar registry entries to their defaults when XP was brand new. This does not effect icons or quick launch settings. It just restores sizing, position and other elements of the taskbar:
