the secure channel for the server is broken, you likely have DNS configuration issues, which are causing secure channel problems, and with that, will be kerberos issues, and a slew of others coming up
however there are other causes, but that is most typical
i need to know which box they are trying to get to when they get this
for that server they get teh error mapping to, you must install the support tools (do this on the PDC)then run
netdom reset <servername> /server:<PDC name> /usero:administrator /passwordo:*
type the password for the domains built in administrator account (you will not see it type so type carefully)
reboot teh server
you need to be sure of the following (this is assuming all one site, and that you have a domain, which you must if getting that error):
1. All DCs are DNS servers
2. The PDC should be pointing to himself and himself only for DNS, with the defaults on the DNS tab in advanced tcp/ip properties, and forwarders to the ISP DNS servers
3. all replica DCs in the domain need to point to teh PDC as the preferred, adn themselves as alternates, with forwarders to the ISP and defaults on advanced DNS tab of tcpip props
4. your domain name must be in the form of domainname.com
5. if win2k, if one DC is SP4, they must all eb SP4, if win2003, if one DC is SP1, they must all be SP1
6. all clients should be pointing to the PDC for preferred DNS, adn the other DCs as alternates
7. once DNS is changed to be correct (if changes are needed), you need to cycle the netlogon service on teh DCs and reboot teh clients and member servers (easiest route) or run ipconfig /flushdns & ipconfig /registerdns
