I have a IPO500 on a subnet 10.3.97.xx and the user PC's on a subnet 10.3.98.xx. All available ports have been opened between the two subnets. Howerer, When I install Tapi on the .98 subnet I cannot see the 97 Subnet. When I put the User PC on the 97 Subnet I can install Tapi No Problem and see the IPO. There are IP Routes built in the IPO as well. Any Ideas? Can tapi run across subnets? Running 4.2(4) Currently

I have also had trouble with TAPI accross subnets, not worked it out yet, my routing is also fine.

never had a problem with TAPI across a VPN which would be different subnets and using routers so can't see why a different subnet would not work. Can ping the IPO from the PC subnet?

Put the ip500 on both networks

Lan 1 in voice and lan 2 in data network

TAPI does a broadcast over ethernet, broadcasts cannot travel to different subnets.

I use TAPI (Outlook dial and screen pop) on a 10.254.10.0/24 across a L3 switch to an IP Office on a 10.254.11.0/24 network without issue on IP Office 4.2.

My TAPI does work over VPN as well, i meant that during istallation the TAPI does a broadcast so you can find the ipo and select a user.
If it is entered manually it will work on every network if the network can route the ip packets from one network to another. The above is clearly a routing problem.

The easiest way is to do like tlpeter said.
Or you have to do VLAN routing on your switches if they support that.

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

check again your routing between the vlans.if there is any.
is there any communication between the vlans?
if you have implement an intervlan routing between the subnet's you should be ok.
you need a Layer 3 Switch or a Router to accomplish this.

That is a long way round. Why not put the LAN2 of the 500 on the data lan and point phone manager and TAPI to that address...

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
