Hello,
I have W2K3, with AS9SP1(Build 2100)and a HP SureStore 8 Slot Autoloader.
I need staging (backup to disk to tape).
I create two Media pools as DISKPOOL and TAPEPOOL.
I create two Device Groups as DISK and TAPE an assign my Autoloader-Devices to TAPE-Group and my file-system-Devices to DISK-Group.
A backup-job to disk has already finished and tape called "TUESDAY"
I run following command: tapecopy -s DISK -d TAPE -t"TUESDAY" -b

the result is a error:
THIS COPY MUST BE DONE WITHIN A CHANGER TO WORK
TAPE COPY ENDED
Tape copy failed

I have a changer!!!!! Why it not work??????

try it without the -b option to see if it works.

without the -b come the folliwing error:

Source and target tapes are in the same group, Please use -b(Blank tape) option.

Exactly what devices did you assign to group TAPE?

all slots from the autoloader assign to group TAPE, all
file-system-devices assign to group DISK.
