Tape positioning by record is disabled

hi all,

I have a sun solaris 8 system.
this system is running legatto 6.1.3 server.
I get the following message any time I backup or restore.

does any one have a clue what is if for please?

It has 8 x DLT8000 drives with the standard drv configuration.

For whatever reason the tape has the wrong block size defined. Expected block size is 96kB but yours have 1kB.

Despite that this block size is ridicular small, it will also decrease your media capacity as more gaps will be written.

Suggestion:
- Make sure that your st.conf entries are o.k.
- Make sure you have configured a DLT8000 drive.
- Relabel the tape if you can.
This only will change the block size.
