Tape Engine Stops

After every job I run, the tape engine stops. All of the jobs themselves are completing, but every morning, I have to start the tape engine again. Is this a sign that the tape library is going bad? I'm on Brightstor 9.x, I have a Compaq Tape Library that's about 5 years old.

It could be, but you dont mention the build number of Brightstor.

You may just need to patch the software.

 
Here is the Version and Build Number :

Version 9.0 (Build 2100)

Is there a later build or patch that might address this problem? I'm trying to figure out if it warrants a call to Brighstor Tech Support.
 
You need to be on build 2200 for max compatability. You can do this by applying Service Pack 2:


It may also be worth checking in Device Manager if your hardware is enabled. If it is, id suggest disabling it and a reboot of your server. there may be a conflict between Windows and Arcserve device drivers.
 
Okay...thanks for the info. I'm assuming I'll need to apply SP2 to the ArcServe Server as well as any servers running the client, including the exchange server. Is that correct?
