Hi,

I've got this error [TAPE e6084 drive hardware error(servo or servo sensor)] when I tried finishing up a backup.
The backup option are usually [find a tape media or overwrite the media]. I've had the tape drive replaced a couple of times already and this error seems to be the beginning of a bad trend that I've previously experienced. I was wondering if someone could point me to the source of the problem, it seems to be scsi or some controller. I've searched the whole tek-tips site and found no info.

Thanks.

Well it is probably what it sounds like another tape drive problem. The Tape Engine debug tape log is the way to get more info on the problem. Keep in mind the source of this error is from the Tape Engine, which gets it from the tape drive.

Did the manufacture confirm that the drives had a problem?
Usage, environment, brand tapes can all effect the life of a drive and tapes.
