tape drive is haviing problems writing to media

This problem is not occuring at every backup ?<br>Do I need to replace the tape drive ? <br><br>20000713 040645 TAPE&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;W6905 The tape drive is having problems writing data. <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the capacity of the tape.<br>20000713 040645 TAPE&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;E6913 Your data on tape[Daily Backup Wednesday] serial number[] is at risk
 
franky -<br><br>I would suggest grabbing a cleaning tape first.&nbsp;&nbsp;It runs automatically - you pop it in, it pops out.<br><br>After that, I would grab some new tapes.&nbsp;&nbsp;It's possible the ones your using has expired.<br><br>Good Luck ~ and let us know the outcome.
