In NW 6.2 and up the hardware configuration is saved in the resource database (/nsr/res/nsrdb/.... files). Due to the nature you can not really predict in which of the resource files. You must read these files for matching strings.
Until NW 6.1.4 look up /nsr/res/nsr.res and nsrjb.res.
Media information is are of course also stored in the media db (/nsr/mm).
