take out the last part of each field? 1

I have an Access query. The data for one field looks like the following:

place1, 34

place2, 40

place3, 54

place4, 65

place5, 32

I actually just want to see:

place1
place2
place3
place4
place5

How do I do this please?

place: Left([field name], InStr([field name],",")-1)
