Hi

I stumbled across tagged comments while trying out ApexSQL and Innovasys Document!X - not much information online about them, except they are referred to as something else ?! Any ideas ? Do you think it's something like extended properties that Microsoft will be supporitng into the future or is it old hat ? More info here:

AFAIK idea behind tagged comments is old and simple... documentation is pain in the a**, and best done:

1) ASAP (while writing code)
2) with as less efforts as possible
3) only once (DRY)
4) within source code

Extended properties fail on 4). [smile]

Mmm, there is that, but you could include the assignement of extended properties in your script. I tend to only work from scripts, but I guess it's not as convenient in EM - more likely folks will forget to fill it in. The implementation could have been better - for tables + columns, its nice and easy, for everything else its a pain.
