I have a lot of copy that has been written on word that I need to drop into Quark. The tab/indent has been set in quark 5.0 to .2 inches. But when I import the text, i´m stuck with the original indents from word, whatever size they were.

That´s if they come through. Sometimes they don´t come through at all.

So far I´ve been changing them manually, but with more than 20 pages to fill, I can´t go through every story I get.

Is there a way to apply the tabs automatically?

Could you select all the text and then change the tabs?

Could you setup a style sheet with tabs infront? If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

I've tried to set up a style sheet with the tabs, but when I apply it, the tabs in the copy aren't affected. Strange, right?

Yep, is this an issue with Quark 5 maybe?

Have you tried itin 4? If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Have you tried setting the paragraph style to "no style" and then reapplying your style sheet?

Here is what I do: with the first line of paragraphs I NEVER use the tab -- I highlight the text and then CMD or CRTL SHIFT F -- then the second box down is the FIRST LINE -- enter .125 or equivalent in metric of .25 if deep indents are requested. That will relieve the issue of tab indents in paragraphs. Let freedom ring!
