Table to facilitate time prompting

I attended a BO conference over a year ago at UC Berkely Seve Krandel presented a table that could be updated with SQL update statements to make time based reporting easier. Steve, do you still have the table layout and update SQL for this. We have users with very particular needs for time-based reporting and would like to see if this solution would work. I would greatly appresiate any help that you could provide.
