Table row thickness

Hi all, sorry this may be a very simple question to you guys, but this is doing my head in!

I am making a website for a football team and in one of my tables, one of the rows, when opened in safari browser displays as 2 or 3 times thicker than it should be, can somebody explain how to stop this please? Also is there any way of locking the size/position of cells in a table?
