We have a loaner T7406e and base that we send to customers as a demo unit. The customer 9 times out of 10 love the phone, and we install new. In 1 handset situations, there haven't been any issues.

But..

When we have a customer that requests multiple handsets, after install, we get complaints about horrible range and static. In the past few weeks, we have had about 5-6 of these issues.

We have had to replace the base entirely to solve the problem, and now I have 3 bad base stations sitting in my office.

On one site, the tech left the base in registration mode. Switching the DIP settings to normal did nothing to solve the range issue. But the others were in normal mode, and still went bad.

Has anyone else ran into these issues ? Is this a bad batch of bases from Nortel ? Any input would be awesome.

Not aware of a bad batch.

Could be a location issue - was the location of the base changed and tested?
Do the units work ok in your office environment?

Do the base units replicate the trouble on your test bench? This is still a relatively new product, and it wouldn't supprise me if there were still a few obscure issues to work out.

When we remove the loaner, we place the base in the same location that was working.

The problem is still there when testing from the office.

No one else has seen this issue ?
