Or am I just frying my brain?
Examples......

Definity c6c (H600-307) cable has 50-pin to 15-pin as....
(from Avaya pinout chart)

233416_1/easy_2/OutputInstallMCC/ConnCableDiags28.htm

50 pin -> 15 pin
47 LI (hi)-> 11
22 LI -> 3
48 LO -> 9
23 LO (hi)-> 1

now standard db15 -> rj45 would yield
1 Rx tip
2 Rx ring
4 Tx tip
5 Tx ring

but ANSI specs say should be....
1 Rx ring
2 Rx tip
4 Tx ring
5 Tx tip

So, does one need to swap ring/tip on each pair?
Or since going from 4 wire to 2 wire, does a standard
hybrid really care?

The reason I ask is because they seem to get swapped
all the time and I'm just trying to make sure I'm doing the
right thing.

ie. loop back/cross over pin outs, I keep seeing ...
1 -> 4 or 5
2 -> 4 or 5
Which is right or doesn't matter?

And of coarse I get my c6c cable in and check pin out
and they don't match avaya pinout charts, has Tx tip/ring
swapped.....

50 pin -> 15 pin
47 LI (hi)-> 11
22 LI -> 3
48 LO (hi)-> 1 (chart has pin 9 here)
23 LO -> 9 (chart has pin 1 here)

So once again, does it really matter?
Can someone help and try to explain this or
tell me I'm just thinking to much?

When dealing with a RJ45 connector pin 4 is ring and pin 5 is tip. it follows the T568 standard. which looks like this:

T568A:
1 -T3
2 -R3
3 -T2
4 -R1
5 -T1
6 -R2
7 -T4
8 -R4

T568B:
1 -T2
2 -R2
3 -T3
4 -R1
5 -T1
6 -R3
7 -T4
8 -R4

To create a loop back jack for a T1 following the T568B standard Tip2 wires to Ring1 and Ring2 wires to Tip1.

I hope this helps.

Ok, I get that, but I guess it's Avaya's that's got me
mixed up.

Pinout chart for c6c cable
(url above)

50 pin -> 15 pin
47 LI (hi)-> 11
22 LI -> 3
48 LO -> 9
23 LO (hi)-> 1

cable really is ...

50 pin -> 15 pin
47 LI (hi)-> 11
22 LI -> 3
48 LO (hi)-> 1 (chart has pin 9 here)
23 LO -> 9 (chart has pin 1 here)

I guess I don't understand what the "high" side
is, ring or tip?

Also don't quite understand why cable didn't
match Avaya's pinout chart, but that's ok as long as 50-pin
from circuit pack is correct.
