Hello again, I now have a working T-1 trunk to an Audiocode gateway and then SIP to a 2010 Unified Msg Server. The Unified Messaging works perfect, I have two issues though.

1. Outside Caller ID doesn't seem to go through. How can i check that I am sending to the gateway? I use a coverage path to a Hunt Group. Caller ID from internal seems fine.

2. If a person calls and gets to the "Hello I am not here.." message and hangs up BEFORE they are prompted to leave message and hear a "BEEP" There is still a voicemail created with a 8 seconds of dial tone.

Any ideas?

Make sure you have public unknown configured for those extensions/trunks if your using pub-unk.

Also .. there are several fields on a trunk that deal with CPN/CID and Name/Number. You can tinker with those.

If you really want to understand them I recommend downloading the "Avaya Aura® Communication Manager Screen Reference" from the support site.

A very wise and well respected man once told me "Shut Up!".

Ok, I am not using a Trunk Group though. I have it set up using the DS1 board with T-1 Robbed Bit Signaling and each channel has an EXT of type VMIFD. So I cannot change or tinker with any of the normal TG setting for caller ID.

I followed this almost exactly

leftyx if you are using that form of integration (VMI) then external calling party ID is not passed on to the voicemail system - whether that is UM or something else. It is a limitation of that form of integration.

your second question has to do with silence detection or timeout settings.
