Can any one help,

My sysvols are not replicating, the rest of AD is working fine, Im not sure but I think the problem might be when I browse to the servers and click on the netlogon share the first DC will let me in and see all of the scripts but my second DC says that NETLOGON is not accessible and the specified network resourese is no longer available. any ideas

Hello Billy,
Are there any error reports under Event Viewer in the File Replication Service area on either of the servers? Also Which Service Packs are you running? There is an issue with Service Pack 2

If there are take a look at these two links

Troubleshooting File Replication Service

Hopefully this helps. If you have any additional info please post.

I am getting errors on both

This is the main DC

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NtFrs
Event Category: None
Event ID: 13539
Date: 08/11/2004
Time: 09:17:21
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 13539 ) in Source ( NtFrs ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: c:\winnt\sysvol\domain.

This is the one that I promoted

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: NtFrs
Event Category: None
Event ID: 13508
Date: 07/11/2004
Time: 14:00:13
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER0
Description:
The File Replication Service is having trouble enabling replication from SERVER to SERVER0 for c:\winnt\sysvol\domain using the DNS name Server.readgroup.lan. FRS will keep retrying.
Following are some of the reasons you would see this warning.

[1] FRS can not correctly resolve the DNS name Server.readgroup.lan from this computer.
[2] FRS is not running on Server.readgroup.lan.
[3] The topology information in the Active Directory for this replica has not yet replicated to all the Domain Controllers.

This event log message will appear once per connection, After the problem is fixed you will see another event log message indicating that the connection has been established.

How do I check that my dns is correct?

In ad sites and services under ntds and the connections tab it seems that the replicate to and from are the same server, so server is replicating from server and replicating to server and the same with server 1 this doesnt seem correct that there trying to replicate to them selves?

-make sure that server are pointing to each other for dns
-check that both file replication server and netlogon service are running on both.
-check the event viewier, file replication, you may have a journal wrapper error which prevents the sysvol from being replicated. Click on the microsoft like at the bottom of the event. it should give you a link to a registry fix.
