I see that sysusers table contains user logins and roles. Is it safe to add a new column in this and other system tables? I wouldn't be manually creating user or changing keys, indexes, etc.

DO NOT ALTER ANY SYSTEM TABLES UNLESS YOU ARE PURPOSELY TRYING TO CORRUPT AND DESTROY YOUR DATABASE.

By default you can not even update a system table though settings exist that allow it.

I have never tried to add a column to a system table, I wonder if that's even possible.

Sounds fun to try, but then again so does having my job tomorrow.
