I'm getting an "Unexpected response on this IP Address and port - service is not System Status Interface". I have rebooted the system. Tried both LAN/WAN port. Both are static IP Addresses that were working 2 days ago. I have tried from 2 users and verified both are in the System Status Group in security settings. Help!

Check your Security Settings. Under Services check your System Status interface. Here you will see the security level and the port number. Make sure the port in System Status matches the port in your security settings. I would also suggest checking the security level and making sure that your security level is the same - SSA should prompt if there's a mismatch but it doesn't hurt to check.

And for a couple basic things - are you using the right version of SSA? Have you checked to ensure that the embedded file manager has the files required for SSA?

Make sure your JAVA is up to date as well.

TTTommy & aarondyck get the gold star. Oddly enough, in the security settings, System Status says it's using 50808, so I changed the port in system status and now it just says no response from that IP Address and port... I see no way of changing this in the security settings.

That's the response I'm getting when I try to access it from the local LAN. I'm getting the same "service is not System Status Interface" when I try to log on over the public IP and changing the port to 50808.

Also, aarondyck, this was working fine up until right before I posted this. I was working on it one day, got in fine, rebooted the IPO for a change and then I couldn't get in again. I took your advice and checked the secure communications tab. It came up with the standard message saying system status is configured for secure connection, do you wish to wish to proceed with an unsecured connection. If I say no, it says no response, if I say yes it says unexpected response, not a system status interface.

The port is 50808 for unsecured and 50809 for secured connections. The SSA opens and says 50804 but I never changed that and it still works. It needs the 50804 to read the configuration

There is a checkmark for secure connection.
try with if it doesn't work and it is on
Try without otherwise

and when in doubt reboot the system :)

Westi, tried all that and rebooted the system. Nothing works.

Manager working okay on the same machine? Are you launching System Status from Manager or from its own executable file?

Exorcism [cannon]

You could try and connect from a different laptop / desktop to see if it is the SSA on the machine or the IPO

Short of that I am at the end of my ideas

I can't get it to work on a local PC or a remote PC.

Reset the security settings and everything's working now. Strange stuff. Thanks, guys!
