MY P4 2.0Gig System has worked fine for a year (well, as well as you could expect) but recently it started to restart either just before the desktop appeared or sometime soon after, often on selection of the first app (random).
Most times it runs scandisk and often, but not always, reports the pagefile.sys size was invalid and a couple of other temp files were turned into lost files fixes.
In the event viewer it seems to show the following line..
System error WARNING (in Yellow) (102) 1003 Dhcp created IP Address for network card 1007 (or something similiar to that). And that line shows nearly every time it occurs.. but not always..if it doesnt run scandisk on restart it doesnt seem to report it like that..

Any suggestions?? I'm prepared to nuke the whole show and start again but since once it succesfully gets to desktop it stays fine for the session, no matter how varied.

Mal Oz.

Some mention a corrupt Paging File as the cause.
