Here's what I am trying to do... We currently have a R6.3 Definity on which I am planning to enable the system printer so I can capture some BCMS reports and other reports that cannot be captured from DSA (ex: list emergency). Instead of connecting the serial output of the 7400A data module to a printer I would like to connect it to the serial port on my PC and capture the ASCII data to a file. Can this be done? If so, what do I need to do software wise on the PC to make this work? Thanks in advance.

yes you can,
any terminal emulation package with the capture to file function will do,
there also are specific data aquisition packages that will do that.

Hope this helps
