I have a short cut, on my computer, that has the /wrkgrp command that tell the other computers to look for the syste.mdw file on the network. It works great except my computer is joined to another group. When i click this short cut and change the permissions the other computers do no see this change. I assumed that it joins that group with the /wrkgrp command but the changes do not show up on there wrkgrp. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Jim.

try this:

? Application.SysCmd(acSysCmdGetWorkgroupFile)

in the debugwindow of all computers to determine if you really use the same mdw-file on all computers

You probably already understand this, but just in case:
The permissions get established when the user opens the database. When they are changed, the user who changes them gets updated (in his/her running copy of Access), but any other users who already have the database open won't see the change until they exit and log on again.
