Just built a PIII 1gig on ASUS TUV4X motherboard with the latest BIOS flash ( Award revision 1003 dated 10/24/01). It has 256mb ram and an nVidia e-TNT 2 M64 AGP graphics card with 32mb ram. I am running Windows XP version 5.12600 Build 2600. During bootup between the Windows XP splash screen and the blue users login screen the screen will go black with a cursor at top left and lock up. After reseting a couple times or shutting off and letting sit awhile it will boot normal. In the event viewer-system there is an error with a source of acpi that says AMLI: ACPI BIOS attempting to read from illegal IO port. Any ideas on a fix???
