1) In the Event viewer these errors have become standard for these components/services: W3SVC, SMTPSVC, and MSFTPSVC
"The server was unable to register the administration tool discovery information. The administration tool may not be able to see this server. The data is the error code."
What must I upgrade or change to get rid of these errors?
2) In the Device Manager/IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers is listed an "Unknown device" - now:
a) system claims no driver is regúired or installed, yet states a driver from Microsoft Ver: 5.0.2195.2959 and NOT digitally signed in fact is installed.
b) when selecting "Update driver" the device is called "hdc" and the wizard finds a closer driver match called "mshdc.inf"
c) when I opt to update the driver to this closer match - whammo! - the system shuts down and, blue screen, memory dump and the works!
What is going on here?
